Hotel Gortani, the tradition of hospitality in Arta Terme since 1925
Each hotel has its own history, which traces an adventure and tells not only the origin but also on its way in time over the years and through the generations. The history tells the work and the passion that constructed the reality of today.
The Grand Hotel Gortani, for three generations, has been synonymous of tranquility, privacy, comfort and well-being in Arta Terme, a place where the natural beauty combine perfectly the cultural riches of the mountains of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Grandfather Giovanni Gortani purchased the property in 1925 for about 135,000 lire and build the hotel (where it is currently located the reception of the hotel) where at the time there was situated a grocery store, a butcher’s shop and a petrol station.
Behind the actual Hotel was located the old distillery Gortani , where they produced brandies Gortani, renowned throughout the country, together with the slivovitz plum and pear brandies completely handmade . Today, in place of the old distillery there are the swimming pool and the hotel’s garden where it’s possible to relax and enjoy the beautiful views.
In the ’90s the hotel was renowned and extended for the quality of services and for the construction of a fully equipped Spa and a panoramic swimming pool covered and heated where guests can spend pleasant moments of well-being.
The Grand Hotel Gortani has become , in a century of history , a point of reference for all the tourists who decide to visit , spend their holidays or weekends in Arta Terme, between the beautiful mountains of Friuli.
